The highly awaited weekend of awesomeness here in Austin, Texas, known as the ACL Music Festival, has come and gone for another year, but as with the previously six years I’ve attended, I am, once again, left speechless by so much of the brilliance I was so fortunate to witness throughout the last three days. Simply incredible performances, priceless memories with friends and, as always, the unpredictability of the Central Texas weather. All in all, the 11th edition of the ACL Music Festival was in a word…tremendous!
For those of you keeping score at home…the best of the best from the fest are as follows –
Friday: Delta Spirit, Trampled By Turtles, The Black Keys
Saturday: Andrew Bird, Michael Kiwanuka, The Shins
Sunday: Gary Clark, Jr, The Lumineers, The Avett Brothers
Considering so much of what makes ACL so fantastic every year are the sights and sounds in and around Zilker Park, in light of not being able to share the audio portion of the amazing experience I took in, the least I can do is share my gallery of photos which, I hope, will offer you a small glimpse at what this annual celebration is all about.
For those who were not able to attend, I hope to see you out at ACL next year for either of the TWO weekends – October 4-6 and October 11-13, 2013. And to the masses who also joined me out at Zilker over the last three days, cheers to another stellar fest! See you next year!
