Quite simply, there’s few places in the world that I love as much as Luckenbach, Texas, located in the amazing lil’ hamlet between Johnson City and Fredericksburg, Texas that, honestly, if you blink, you’ll miss…and you DO NOT want to do that.
Toward the latter part of every January, the good folks in the great locale, first noted by “Willie, Waylon and the boys,” hold the annual Luckenbach Blues Festival – the 6th annual held this past Saturday, January 26th, out at the hallowed grounds in the midst of Central Texas that never fail to make me smile.
With the stellar KDRP – Independent Hill Country Radio – serving as media host, this year’s Luckenbach Blues Fest was another tremendous event and full day of incredible live performances from the likes of Garrett Lebeau, Danny Brooks, Paula Nelson, Clay McClinton, Bonnie Bishop with special guest, Lee Roy Parnell, Mingo Fishtrap, Jimmy LaFave, Carolyn Wonderland, Hayes Carll.

The list of stellar performers is merely a snapshot of the talent we witnessed and doesn’t even come close to sharing what a cool experience and excellent event the Blues Fest is every year in Luckenbach. Unique, “off the beaten path” and pretty much like witnessing a day of live tunes with your best friends and family. Yeah, it’s that cool.

With many thanks to Abbey Road and the always gracious and accommodating Luckenbach, Texas staff, the 6th Annual Luckenbach Blues Festival is already a highlight in, what is sure to be, another outstanding year here in 2013, not to mention, a music event that you should not miss in the years to come.
