The headline says it all about Austin’s latest addition to the boutique hotel market – Heywood Hotel – located just a stone’s throw from downtown, east of I-35 on Cesar Chavez.
A three year project by owner, Kathy Setzer, has resulted in an excellent new lodging option inside a fully renovated and restored 1920’s Craftsman-style home with a brilliant front porch, killer second floor patio and heartfelt touches throughout rooms and open spaces of the entire property.
I can’t say enough how impressed I was with the each of the seven total hotel rooms, the unique and well thought out features and the friendliness of the staff and, of course, Kathy, herself. The tour I received showcased what a new gem of a property Heywood Hotel is to the Austin market.
Considering the time and effort put into making Heywood Hotel a reality, I cannot recommend enough to those coming into town for big events like SXSW and the ACL Music Festival or for those Austin residents, here locally, who just need a lil’ “staycation” getaway.
