30 Years of Greatness…And Still Rockin!

In our current society, progress and technology have, without a doubt, taken over many experiences in our lives enjoyed in years past, when we existed in a simpler time and place. However, one staple in my world that will remain, as long as this world will let it, is the beauty and thrill of visiting a record store.

Here in Austin, we are blessed with one of the best, if not THE best, remaining true “record stores” in the United States – Waterloo Records & Video – located on Lamar at West Sixth, and recognized by Rolling Stone Magazine in June 2010, check it out HERE.

Owner, John Kunz, and his staff maintain an absolutely priceless collection of music, new and old, local and national, along with an ongoing schedule of excellent artist in-store performances (many with FREE Shiner Beer!) and an overall fantastic environment for enjoying the tremendously valuable “gift of music.”

Not to mention, during SXSW every March, Waterloo creates an amazing parking lot concert scene, full stage and all, playing host to some of the hottest artists in town for the annual music showcase.

Here in 2012, Waterloo celebrates 30 years of excellence in the record store realm, so please swing by, show John and his staff some love, pick up some tunes and congratulate the gang on maintaining another piece of awesomeness in today’s world!
