When it comes to chasing the little white ball around the links, there’s no better way than by participating in a charity golf tournament. Thanks to Chris Cain, Director of Sales & Marketing with Dulce Vida Organic Tequila, I was recently invited to tee it up on May 7th in the 2nd Annual Maudie’s Cup Golf Tournament out at Lion’s Municipal Golf Course, hosted by Maudie’s Tex-Mex here in Austin.
Benefiting Ruby’s Rainbow, a local non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the educational needs of those with Down’s Syndrome, the tourney was one of the more fun and hilarious I’ve participated in. With food, drink and plenty of adult beverages available at each hole, golfers were also given the option to tee off from more advantageous locations while wearing grass skirts (yes, you read that right).
Paired with not only Mr. Cain, but Michael Icenhauer of Icenhauer’s fame on Rainey Street, and Mike Fallon, GM of the Maudie’s Milagro on 360 at Davenport Ranch, we successfully turned an average day into one we won’t soon forget.
Thanks to Maudie’s for hosting an excellent event for a wonderful cause!
